Utrecht at MIAD is featuring artist Jean Christel now Through Februaury 20th.

Jean’s drawings consist of bugs, chickens, cats and cars. She uses oil pastel, acrylic and collage elements in her work. These images are very charged and full of color.  Brings to mind Basquait and has an outsider art quality to them. Jean graduated from the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design in 1994. She has also shown at the Rhar Museum in Manitowoc. Check out Jean’s work on our Artspan gallery site.

Utrecht MIAD’s own Erin Brodersen and her team have won the 2009 Fiskars design competition. Erin and her team designed an original garderning tool that may be considered for production.

Introducing…

Anna Grosch, assistant manager, recently graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee with a bachelors degree in architectural Studies.  She is passionate about painting, drawing and photography in her free time.  She is excited to to be a part of Utrecht along with the MIAD and Third Ward communities.

Erin Brodersen is currently a MIAD student concentrating in furniture, product design, sculpture and typography. Erin has made the Dean’s list and president’s list and is published. Erin can do anything!

Caresse Reiland is currently a student at MIAD and a tireless worker. Her interest is in communication design. Caresse has been here since day one when we had holes in the floor.

Kristin Cheney is a UWM alumni with a BFA degree in Painting and Drawing.

and myself, Steve Lubahn, store manager. I am a MIAD alumni and have been a professional artist for many years. I have shown locally and nationally and recently received a fellowship from the Wisconsin Arts Board. I’ve been with Utrecht for almost 8 years now.
